Practices for Throat

Humming Breath

breathwork2min

Gentle humming on the exhale creates vibration in the throat that soothes the nervous system and activates authentic expression.

1.

Sit comfortably. Close your eyes.

2.

Take a deep breath in through the nose.

3.

On the exhale, hum softly — let the sound resonate in your chest and throat.

4.

Feel the vibration. Don't force a note — whatever emerges naturally.

5.

Continue for 8–10 breaths.

Unsent Truths

journaling10min

A private space to write what you haven't said — truths held back, needs unexpressed, words still waiting.

1.

Write at the top: "Things I haven't said but need to."

2.

Write without editing or judgment — this is for you only.

3.

Include needs, desires, frustrations, or longings.

4.

When finished, read it back quietly.

5.

Ask yourself: "What one thing here needs to be said out loud?"

6.

Consider to whom you might gently express it.

Neck & Jaw Release

movement5min

A gentle sequence that releases tension held in the throat, jaw, and neck — areas that tighten when expression is suppressed.

1.

Sit or stand comfortably. Drop your shoulders away from your ears.

2.

Slowly tilt your head to the right, bringing your ear toward your shoulder. Hold for 15 seconds.

3.

Repeat on the left side.

4.

Open your mouth wide and stretch your jaw. Hold for 5 seconds, then release.

5.

Gently massage the hinge of your jaw with your fingertips in small circles.

6.

Finish by rolling your neck in slow circles — 3 in each direction.

7.

Swallow once and notice the openness in your throat.

Blue Light Throat Meditation

meditation5min

A visualization that brings healing energy to the throat center, supporting clear and honest communication.

1.

Sit comfortably. Close your eyes.

2.

Take 5 slow breaths, relaxing your jaw, tongue, and throat on each exhale.

3.

Visualize a sphere of bright blue light at the center of your throat.

4.

With each inhale, the light grows brighter and warmer.

5.

With each exhale, it expands outward, filling your neck and jaw.

6.

Silently say: "I speak my truth with clarity and kindness."

7.

Rest in the glow for a few moments before opening your eyes.

Authentic Voice Practice

lifestyle10min

A daily micro-practice of saying one true thing — out loud — that you might normally keep to yourself.

1.

Identify one thing today that you filtered, softened, or swallowed instead of saying.

2.

It does not need to be dramatic. It might be: "I would prefer a different restaurant" or "I need 10 minutes alone."

3.

Find a low-stakes moment to express it clearly and kindly.

4.

Notice the physical sensation in your throat as you speak.

5.

Afterward, write one sentence about how it felt.

6.

Repeat daily. The muscle of authentic expression strengthens with use.
